To descale the coffee maker, follow these steps: 1) Wait for the descale light to turn red, indicating the need for cleaning. 2) Pour 12 oz of prepared descaling solution into the water reservoir. 3) Press the button for 2 seconds to start the descaling process. 4) After completion, fill the reservoir with the maximum amount of water and press the brew button twice to effectively cleanse the coffee maker's reservoir and inner tube.

It's important to note that the handle of the holder or basket should be placed horizontally to ensure the top lid can close properly. The button flashing blue indicates a lack of water or an improperly closed top cover, preventing the coffee maker from functioning.
